From November 2022 to April 2023 Birdingplaces and Leica organized a Rate-Add-And-Win contest among birdwatchers. Any birder who added a birdwatching area to Birdingplaces or rated an area with one to five stars had a chance to win a pair of Leica Ultravid binoculars, a pair of Leica Trinovid binoculars or a pair of Leica Noctivid binoculars. More than 40.000 birders visited the action page and joined the competition.

The Rate-Add-And-Win winter contest was a big success. Over 1000 new birdwatching areas have been added to Birdingplaces! Also more than 3000 birdwatching areas have received a star rating. On birders can now find almost 6000 great places for birdwatching in Europe. Described in detail, with all the info to go birding in the area, including a detailed map. An incredible increase and a valuable and free resource for birders all over Europe.

Sebastian Lobitz: “What a surprise to win these magnificent binoculars. When I first looked through the Leica Trinovid I couldn’t believe my eyes. What a clarity and brightness! The size makes the Trinovid easy to handle and take it along. I’m very happy winning the Leica Trinovid binoculars and from now on I will always have it with me when I go out into nature.”

Samuel Odrzykoski: “Thank you very much Birdingplaces for this great initiative and Leica for their support. I have been using a Leica Trinovid for 7 years and I am very happy with it. Durable construction and excellent value for money are the undoubted advantages of this model. But I am also very excited that by winning this contest from now on I will do my birding with the incredible Leica Noctivid!”
